Abstract

Real-time makeup virtual try-on (VTO) on resource-constrained platforms like mobile devices and web browsers demands a delicate balance: models must be accurate enough for realistic results yet lightweight and fast enough for smooth performance. Existing approaches often rely on separate models for facial landmark detection and occlusion-aware segmentation, increasing complexity and hindering real-time performance. There is proposed, in accordance with embodiments, a unified model that performs both tasks within a single, highly efficient architecture. Specifically designed for VTO, the model offers enhanced accuracy around critical areas like the eyes and lips. Operations can be further optimized for real-time performance by leveraging temporal information: predictions from previous video frames guide current predictions, increasing parallelism and reducing inference time. Trained with a simplified pipeline, the unified model achieves accuracy comparable to state-of-the-art lightweight alignment models while maintaining a small footprint.

Abstract

Systems and methods for high-precision, high-accuracy, personalized hair coloring and/or bleaching treatments that are time-sensitive, including machine learning (ML) implementations thereof. A system comprises circuitry configured to compute, based on an initial shade of hair and a desired shade of the hair, a hair treatment modality to at least approximately achieve the desired shade with a time-sensitive application of a cosmetic composition, such as a hair bleaching formula, that correlates with characteristics of the hair and a projected responsiveness of the hair to the treatment. The system can receive data related to a current progress of the bleaching and recompute, based on the in-progress data and the desired shade, the hair treatment modality for accuracy and precision.

Abstract

A system for wirelessly powering a micro-robot platform is disclosed herein. The system is comprised of a micro-robot platform and one or more wireless charging zones, wherein the micro-robot platform is configured to levitate over the one or more wireless charging zones. The micro-robot platform is further comprised of a micro-robot, a plurality of printed circuit board (PCB) layers arranged in a "stack-up" structure, a magnetic levitation (MAGLEV) stack, a wireless power stack, and a microcontroller unit (MCU). The micro-robot platform may be charged wirelessly using inductive charging, wherein magnetically coupled inductive loop coils transfer power from the wireless charging zone to the micro-robot platform. The transferred power is then directed to the various PCB layers using a demultiplexer for power storage, MAGLEV, and peripheral processes according to the MCU's programming.

Abstract

In a disk-style applicator brush, such as for mascara, the bristle-containing disks are created having multiple rows of bristles to minimize the number of disks necessary to create a taper as well creating more visually appealing tapers. This is advantageous for the visual attractiveness as well as the ergonomic improvement of the brush. Disks are made that are thicker (in the axial dimension) and have two rows of bristles that are alternating, but each row of the bristles creates a different brush diameter.
