Abstract

System for controlling burrowing insects including a server to communicate with seismic sensors at respective location/s within the premises. Each sensor enables vibrations of an insect-consumable substance, into which the sensor is driven, to be sensed, yielding sensor output data. A communication unit communicates, from the sensor to the remote server, i. sensor output data and/or ii. an identifier unique to the individual sensor; and/or iii. a time-stamp identifying a time-point at which the data was sensed by the sensor/s. The server differentiates, for point/s in time, an insect-consumable substance in which insects are/aren't present, and stores information associating identifiers of certain sensors, with data indicating whether burrowing insects are present in the insect-consumable substance into which each sensor is/are respectively driven, at given stored time-points corresponding to the time-stamp/s.
