Abstract
A ducted fan propulsion comprises a duct with a cutout and a movable duct section that is moved between a retracted position within the cutout and am extended position relative to the duct. An actuator is disposed within the duct wall and is connected to the movable duct section with actuating linkage. A control linkage connects the movable duct section to the cutout edges. The movable duct section is extended when the ducted fan propulsion transitions from vertical takeoff to a level flight or transitions from level flight to a vertical landing. The movable duct section is retracted into cutout an becomes integrated with the duct during level flight.

Abstract
An input shaft being configured into spline engagement with an input wheel wherein the input wheel slides axially along the input shaft; an output shaft into engagement with the input shaft, and wherein an output wheel is configured to slide axially along said output shaft; a variator wheel being configured to drive the input wheel or output wheel without direct contact; a traction fluid to enable the variator wheel to drive at least one of the input wheel and output wheel without direct contact; a toroidal cavity for containing the traction fluid and form an enveloping toroidal cavity when the input wheel and output wheel are aligned together; and an actuator tier controlling the axial sliding of the input and output wheel on their respective splined shafts.
IPC Classes ?
- F16H 15/38 - Gearings providing a continuous range of gear ratios in which a member A of uniform effective diameter mounted on a shaft may co-operate with different parts of a member B in which the member B has a curved friction surface formed as a surface of a body of revolution generated by a curve which is neither a circular arc centered on its axis of revolution nor a straight line with concave friction surface, e.g. a hollow toroid surface with two members B having hollow toroid surfaces opposite to each other, the member or members A being adjustably mounted between the surfaces

Abstract
A display sign apparatus includes a stationary frame and a movable frame mounted therein for reciprocal lateral movement. One drive system is provided for moving the movable frame. Each of the stationary and movable frames has a plurality of elongated display sign elements mounted in a spaced relationship. Another drive system is provided for rotating each element about its longitudinal axis. The elongated display sign elements are movable between a first position wherein the elements are interposed with a side-by-side arrangement and a second position wherein the elements in the movable frame are laterally spaced from the elements mounted on the stationary frame.
IPC Classes ?
- G09F 11/02 - Indicating arrangements for variable information in which the complete information is permanently attached to a movable support which brings it to the display position the display elements being secured to rotating members, e.g. drums, spindles
