Abstract

Present disclosure relates to a liquid vapor separation device (100) of a fractionation column (FC). The device includes a first plate (10), a second plate (20), an impingement plate (30), and a plurality of vanes (40). The second plate may be positioned below the first plate at a distance. The impingement plate may be positioned between and coupled to the first plate and the second plate. The impingement plate extends to a predefined length along length of the first plate (10) and the second plate (20). Further, the plurality of vanes (40) may be positioned between and coupled to the first plate and the second plate along adjacent sides of the impingement plate and spaced apart by a pre-defined distance. Furthermore, each vane of the plurality of vanes may be defined with a curved section (40b) and a twisted section (40a) extending from the curved section and may be adapted to separate vapor and liquid from the liquid vapor mixture.

Abstract

Present disclosure relates to an innovative tube configuration in the firebox which does not use any 180 degree return bend and allows the placing of a higher number of tubes on all four walls (W) of the cabin heater firebox. In this arrangement, tubes (20) are connected through 90 deg. bends and can be placed closely on all 4 walls (W) of the firebox, while being supported through vertical pipe-column supports or conventional wall tube hangers. The tubes (20) on at least one of the walls of the firebox need to be at a gentle slope and can be kept horizontal at other walls. This configuration has multiple advantages with respect to the existing fired heater tube arrangements, like placement of tubes irrespective of standard tube pitch as no 180deg. standard return bend is used, maximization of heat transfer area within a defined fire box volume, uniform heat flux & hydraulic symmetry in all passes (including odd passes).

Abstract

A plate type gas-gas heat exchanger (400) comprises a casing (402) having a first end (402a) and a second end (402b). A first fluid inlet (404) and a second fluid outlet (410) are configured in a first portion (402a-1) and a second portion (402a-2) of the first end (402a). The first fluid inlet (404) receives a first fluid (F1). A second fluid inlet (406) and a first fluid outlet (408) are configured in a first portion (402b-1) and a second portion (402b-2) of the second end (402b) respectively. The second fluid inlet (406) receives a second fluid (F2). The first and second fluid outlets (408, 410) allows exit of the first and second fluids (F1, F2) respectively from the heat exchanger (400), after heat exchange. The first and second fluid (F1, F2) flow in opposite directions, creating a true counter-current flow pattern across an entire length of the heat exchanger (400).

Abstract

A vacuum distillation unit and process for separating components of reduced crude oil by operating the vacuum distillation unit. The process includes feeding reduced crude oil in a vacuum column by a feed line, supplying a stripping stream at a lower portion of the vacuum column by an ejector, receiving an overhead vapour stream by the ejector from an upper portion of the vacuum column, creating the stripping stream in the ejector by mixing the overhead vapour stream into a steam, and supplying part of the stripping stream at the lower portion by the ejector to re-circulate the overhead vapour stream from the upper portion to the lower portion of the vacuum column.
