Abstract

Preparations that while having excellent cancer therapeutic potency, quickly act and have little side effects, being employable in a cancer therapy of high safety. There is provided an efficacy enhancer for alternative therapeutic agent comprising Bacillus subtilis DB9011 (FERM BP-3418) as an active ingredient, and provided a relevant alternative therapeutic agent. Further, there are provided anticancer preparations wherein combined use is made of Bacillus subtilis DB9011.

Abstract

To provide a novel antibacterial substance which originates in a natural substance and has a broad antibacterial spectrum and an elevated potency, an antibacterial substance DM0507 obtained by a production method comprising the following steps (a) to (d) is provided: (a) culturing Bacillus subtilis; (b) collecting the supernatant from the thus obtained culture; (c) adjusting the pH value of the supernatant to 3 or less and collecting the precipitate thus formed; and (d) extracting the precipitate with ethanol.
