Abstract
A longilineal member, which may serve as a handle, and may be formed of a synthetic or other relatively soft material, is designed to engage the threaded hole of an acetabular cup, for the manipulation of the cup during surgery. A force distribution element, shaped to conform to the inner curved surface of the cup is trapped between the cup and the longilineal member so as to reduce the forces on the threaded portion of the longilineal member during such manipulations, so as to avert the risk of the thread stripping.

Abstract
A tool holder for a modular tool in which a tool element is trapped between two slidably mating parts, which may be slidingly aligned to trap the tool element, and slidingly separated to free the tool. The sliding operation of the slidably mating parts is defined by mutually engaging retaining elements configured to allow relative movement of said slidably mating parts along said longitudinal axis, but prevent relative movement in any other direction. The tool holder may form part of a kit comprising one or more tool holders, one or more tool elements, and one or more handles. The handle may be comprised with key elements engaging a proximal extremity of the slidably mating parts when aligned, to that with the handle in position, the slidably mating parts cannot be separated, and the tool element released.

Abstract
A tool holder for a modular tool may receive a tool element which may be inserted laterally by sliding a dovetailed part of the tool into a slot on the tool holder. A securing pin may be inserted through the body of the tool holder so as to enter the slot, thereby locking the tool element in place. The locking pin is pivotally mounted to one side of a rocker, the rocker being pivotally coupled to the tool holder body so that by cycling the rocker from one position to another, the locking pin is moved back and forth through the body of the tool holder to engage or disengage the tool element. The rocker may be of a resilient material so as to clip into position on the tool holder. Protrusions may resiliently engage corresponding features on the tool holder so as to latch in either or both positions.

Abstract
A modular surgical tool hip, for example for shoulder, knee or bone traumatology is provided comprising a handle, and interface part and a tool. The handle may be releasably coupled to the interface element by a threaded ring on a threaded cylindrical member of the handle. The handle may comprise a slot in which a keyed element of the interface may engage, to be trapped when the ring is turned about the cylindrical member. Meanwhile the interface may be releasably coupled to the tool by means of a keyed element of the tool which may be slid into a slot of the interface means, the slot being intersected by a securing pin channel passing through the body of the interface from the other side, such that when the securing pin is inserted the keyed member of the tool is trapped in the slot.

Abstract
A tool holder for a modular tool is provided in which the tool holder may be releasably coupled to a working part such as a rasp, reamer or impactor. The coupling comprises a slot closed at both extremities, and widening to an entry aperture at one extremity, into which a keyed element of the tool may be inserted, and slid to the opposite extremity of the slot. The modular tool defines a securing pin channel through its body, terminating at the entry aperture such that a securing pin inserted into the channel block the entry aperture and locks the keyed element of the tool in place once inserted.

Abstract
A modular surgical tool (300, 1200), for example for hip, shoulder, knee or bone traumatology is provided comprising a handle (310), an interface part (330) and a tool (350). The interface may serve to provide a selected linear and/or angular offset with regard to the respective axes of the handle and tool. The handle may be releasably coupled to the interface element by a threaded ring (420) on a threaded cylindrical member (411) of the handle. The handle may comprise a slot (413) in which a keyed element (406) of the interface may engage, to be trapped when the ring is turned about the cylindrical member. Meanwhile the interface may be releasably coupled to the tool by means of a keyed element (841) of the tool which may be slid into a slot (820) of the interface means, the slot being intersected by a securing pin channel (830) passing through the body of the interface from the other side, such that when the securing pin (850) is inserted the keyed member of the tool is trapped in the slot.
