Abstract

A method for removing adherent or immigrated olfactory substances from thermoplastic particles which take the form of bulk material and are exposed to dry, warm air in a treatment chamber of a warm-air container during a time period. Before the treatment in the warm-air container, the plastic particles are warmed in at least one infrared rotary tube, wherein the infrared rotary tube has at least one infrared radiator device arranged in a central region of the interior space thereof and directed towards the inner wall of the drum thereof. During a time period the plastic particles are warmed while the drum is continuously rotated and after that are transferred in the warm state, with a maximum temperature loss of 20 K, into the treatment chamber of the warm-air container where they continue to be exposed to warm air during the time period.

Abstract

Method for removing adherent or immigrated olfactory substances from thermoplastic particles which take the form of bulk material and are exposed to dry, warm air in a treatment chamber (23) of a warm-air container (20) during a time period (t2), characterized - in that, before the treatment in the warm-air container, the plastic particles are warmed in at least one infrared rotary tube (10), wherein the infrared rotary tube (10) has at least one infrared radiator device (13), arranged in a central region of the interior space thereof and directed towards the inner wall of the drum (11) thereof; and - in that during a time period (t1) the plastic particles are warmed while the drum (11) is continuously rotated and after that are transferred in the warm state, with a maximum temperature loss of 20 K, into the treatment chamber (23) of the warm-air container (20), where they continue to be exposed to warm air during the time period (t2) and - in that, after the treatment in the warm-air container (20), the bulk material is post-treated for a third time period (t3) in a conveying device (50) extending from the bottom upwards, and is thereby discharged.

Abstract

A method for the thermal treatment of bulk materials (20) in a rotary tube (1) with at least one infrared light unit (2) comprises at least the following steps: a) introducing bulk material into the rotary tube (1), which is provided on its inner wall with at least one mixing element and in the interior space of which the pressure of the ambient atmosphere prevails; b) carrying out a heat treatment of the bulk material by at least one electrical infrared light unit (2), which is arranged at the centre of the rotary tube (1) and the light cone (3) of which is directed onto the bed of bulk material (20) that lies on the inner wall of the rotary tube (1); c) discharging the bulk material from the rotary tube (1); in addition, water vapour is directed onto the surface of the bulk material (20). The vapour (7) is introduced into the interior space of the rotary tube (1) through a nozzle tube (4), wherein the nozzle tube (4) is arranged with its vapour nozzles in the light cone (3) of the infrared light unit (2) and outside the cross section of the interior space of the rotary tube (1) that is covered by the bulk material (20). The vapour (7) is subsequently heated by the infrared light unit (2).

Abstract

Method for decontaminating bulk food and/or feed material, in particular raw food and/or feed materials, comprising the following method steps: —inserting the bulk material into a rotary tube dryer, —increasing the temperature of the bulk material by means of at least one infrared radiator up to a defined treatment temperature range while at the same time rotating the bulk material, —maintaining the temperature of the bulk material in the treatment temperature range during a treatment phase by means of the infrared radiator while at the same time rotating the bulk material, —reducing the temperature of the bulk material to a discharge temperature while at the same time rotating the bulk material, —discharging the bulk material from the rotary tube dryer.
