Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of composite building materials, such as building sheets or panels having a textured surface as well as to methods for the production thereof and applications thereof as roofing, façade, flooring or decking elements. In particular, the present invention provides composite building materials, having at least one irregularly textured surface comprising a plurality of projections and depressions characterized in that the distance x (as measured perpendicularly to the plane X of the building element) between the highest point of a projection and the lowest point of a depression is between 400 μm and 2000 μm. In particular embodiments, the total surface area of said irregularly textured surface is increased by 0,1% to 15% as compared to a non-textured surface area of the same material and with the same dimensions as the irregularly textured surface.

Abstract

The present invention relates to processes and apparatuses for producing fiber cement sheets as well as fiber cement sheets obtainable therewith. The processes according to the present invention at least comprise the steps of: (a) providing a cementitious slurry comprising fibers,(b) continuously discharging the slurry on an endless water-permeable transport belt, and (c) removing excess of water from the slurry through the water-permeable transport belt to form a fiber cement sheet with a predetermined thickness. By using a water-permeable transport belt for removing the excess of water from the fiber cement sheet, both the thickness and the density of the sheet can be accurately tuned, without resulting in a spring-back of the thickness of the sheet at the end of the production process. The present invention further relates to various uses of the fiber cement sheets obtainable by the processes of the invention in the building industry.

Abstract

The invention relates to a fibrous mat facer for preparing a gypsum board, to a gypsum board comprising said mat facer and to a system comprising said gypsum board. The mat facer of the present invention shows an improved inner cohesion strength. It also exhibits lower grammage, lower thickness more air porous and higher tensile and flexural strength, thus is lighter and stronger than the known ones. It may have a certain lower surface roughness and an embossing pattern, which makes it is not only tightly bound to the gypsum core regardless of the gypsum composition and/or the presence of additives but is easier and safer handled and transported as well. The plasterboard thereof is suitable for external and internal applications. It is particular suitable for being used as external sheathing and for building or renovation material in a bathroom, a kitchen, a laundry room, and in any room that may be exposed to humidity or even in outdoor applications.

Abstract

The system for lining a wall can incorporate a layer of vacuum insulated panels (3) at a supporting profiled section (10) having an H-shaped section . An anchoring device (15) rigidly connected to the front branch (10b) of this profiled section (10) serves to attach the rear end (20a) of one or a plurality of spacing devices (20). The latter have a front end (20b) provided with a holding element (40) connecting to the profiled sections (5) of the secondary framework of the system. The profiled section (10), which has, on the rear branch (10a) of same, a bearing face that can be attached to the wall, makes it possible to take up the bearing forces transmitted from an outer cladding to each of the devices (20). During assembly, the spacing element (30) of a device (20) can be moved in translation and blocked by one of the holding element (40) and an opposing attachment member (22) in contact with the anchoring device (15).

Abstract

The wall lining is made using an attachment kit that includes a supporting profiled section (10) for incorporating a layer of insulating panels, typically VIPs, at a U- or H-shaped section of the profiled section (10). An anchor rail (15) rigidly connected to the front branch (10b) of this profiled section serves to attach the rear end of one or a plurality of spacing devices (30, 40) with a translational degree of freedom parallel to the longitudinal axis (A) of the profiled section (10). A connection to the wall (P1) can be made via a rear branch (10a) of the profiled section that has a bearing face that can be attached directly to the wall. The profiled section (10) makes it possible to take up the bearing forces transmitted from an outer cladding (8) to each of the devices (20). The supporting profiled section can be made from a part made from a plastic material having low thermal conductivity.

Abstract

The building wall heat insulation system (1) has, built therein, a layer of vacuum insulation panels (3) distributed through the use of an easy-to-mount framework (2) that significantly reduces the spaces between the panels. In said framework, cross-bracing devices are connected onto structural elements (4, 5') that bear on at least one substrate (7, P1) of the building so as to structure the layer of panels (3). A studded element (30) of the devices that is set up through the layer includes paired arms for receiving the corners of the panels. The cross-bracing devices (20) form intermediate bearings for locking and holding the panels while maintaining spacing (d1) between the outer facing (8) of the system and the front surface (F1) of the layer of panels.

Abstract

The heat insulation system (1) has, built therein, a layer of vacuum insulation panels (3) distributed through the use of an easy-to-mount framework (2) that significantly reduces the spaces between the panels. A plurality of thin profile elements (10, 10', 11, 12) is used to structure the layer of panels while defining respective cavity pairs, wherein two parallel opposite sides of at least one panel (3) are held. Each cavity of the pair completely covers the side surface, facing the panel, so as to obtain airtightness between the panels. The heat conductivity of each of said profile elements is low. Rigid bearing devices (5, 6), each contiguous to at least one of the profile elements, complete the framework and hold an outer facing (8), remote from the panels, so as to define a free space between a front surface of the layer and the outer facing.

Abstract

The invention relates to a burglar-proof wall comprising at least one wall section. The wall may in this case have one or two wall sections arranged parallel to one another. Each wall section consists of a number of panels arranged parallel to one another, for example plasterboard panels. Instead of a metal grid or a steel plate, a reinforcing fabric is arranged between these two panels, preferably without an intermediate space. This reinforcing fabric can be easily arranged between the two wall sections and consists for example of plastic. Such a burglar-proof wall ensures at least the same protection from burglary as burglar-proof walls provided with metal grids or steel plates. The burglar-proof wall according to the invention can be assigned to Class WK 2 and also complies with the requirements of DIN EN 1627.

Abstract

A process for providing a fiber cement product is provided the process comprising the steps of: - providing an uncured fiber cement product; - curing said uncured fiber cement product; - drying said cured fiber cement product to obtain a humidity of said cured fiber cement product being less than or equal to about 8%w; - abrasive blasting at least part of the surface of said dried fiber cement product.

Abstract

The present invention relates to fiber cement flooring products. In particular, the present invention provides fiber cement flooring products, at least comprising cement and fibers, characterized in that these fiber cement flooring products comprise amorphous silica in an amount of between about 2 weight % and about 15 weight % compared to the total dry weight of the fiber cement composition of said fiber cement flooring product. The present invention further relates to methods for the production of such fiber cement flooring products as well as uses of such fiber cement flooring products in the building industry. The present invention further relates to fiber cement formulations and fiber cement materials, which are suitable for the production of fiber cement products for flooring applications.
