Abstract

This invention discloses a riflescope wherein the point of aim is adjusted by a pair of partially-rotating wedge prisms. The prisms are positioned in front of the objective lens of the riflescope. The deviation axes of the prisms are oriented perpendicular to each other such that one deviates the light beam in the horizontal direction and the other in the vertical direction. It is shown, using the geometric properties of a tangent to a circle, that rotating each prism by a small amount can produce an approximately linear shift in the point of aim of the riflescope. The riflescope introduced in this invention has no laterally-moving parts, no turrets and no off-axis optical components. Therefore, it provides a very robust and reliable point of aim. Additionally, the riflescope has a streamlined body which is aesthetically pleasing and easier to mount on the long receiver of magnum hunting rifles.

Abstract

This invention discloses a method for correcting the point of aim in riflescopes or other optical weapon sights. The point of aim is corrected by attaching one or more corrector wedge prisms in front of the riflescope. Abstract

A combination sight comprises a magnifying optical sight and a non-magnifying optical sight arranged in parallel. The combination sight is characterized in a switchable component capable of assuming two states so as to deflect a beam path through the combination sight, wherein the first state allows for a user to observe a target through the non-magnifying sight and the second state allows for a user to observe a target through the magnifying sight while keeping an aiming eye static.

A fire-control system comprising - a housing, - a light channel, through which a user may directly observe a target and receive visually displayed information simultaneously, said light channel comprising partially reflective optics a light source, for visualization of a reticle to the user via the partially reflective optics, - means for receiving a measure of the distance to the target a processor, for determining the adequate position of the reticle, based on the distance to the target, and for controlling the light source to emit light so that the reticle is visualized at the adequate position, wherein the light source is an array capable of selectively emitting light in well defined locations on its surface.
