Abstract

A device for monitoring the health, fertility and/or well-being of a pig. The invention concerns a device for monitoring the health and/or condition of a pig intended to be rigidly connected to an ear of said pig. According to the invention, such a device comprises, in particular: - means for measuring acceleration components of said device along three orthogonal axes; - means for measuring, by infrared means, the temperature of a portion of said ear; - means for optical luminescence measurement forming an oximeter intended to measure the oxygen saturation of the blood flowing in said ear; - means for processing said measurement of the acceleration components, said temperature measurement and said measurement of the oxygen saturation of the blood flowing in said ear comprising: - means for determining the position and/or a movement and/or the standing still and/or an ingestion and/or the mounting and/or the respiration rate and/or the level of activity of said pig from said measurement of the acceleration components; - means for determining the heart rate of said pig from said measurement of the oxygen saturation of the blood flowing in said ear; - means for determining a body temperature of said pig from said temperature measurement and clock data in order to take into account the temperature circadian rhythm of said pig.

Abstract

The invention concerns a device and method for detecting and indicating the preparatory phase of birthing a bovine or equine animal, that can be secured to the tail of said bovine or equine animal. According to the invention, such a detection and indication device comprises: -means for measuring the components of acceleration of said device according to at least one axis, and preferably according to three orthogonal axes; -means for processing the measurements of said components, intended to detect an occurrence of said preparatory phase; -means for generating a radio communication signal configured so as to generate said signal in case said occurrence is detected; -means for transmitting said generated signal to a collector forming a relay or to a terminal.
