Abstract
Thermal interface system, and method thereof, are configured to constrain or limit an amount of compression applied to a thermal interface during insertion of an electronic device into a cage, rack, chassis, or other mounting assembly. The thermal interface system and method provide a thermal interface that is embedded within a pocket or cavity formed either on a surface of the device, a surface of the mounting assembly, or both. The thermal interface may be made of any suitable thermally conductive interface material that is resilient or has elastic properties. The pocket or cavity provides a seating for the thermal interface and operates to limit the compression or clamping force directed through the thermal interface. Such an arrangement helps prevent the full compression or clamping force used to secure the electronic device from being applied to the thermal interface.

Abstract
A low-profile, right angle connector assembly comprises six cable connectors and six board-mount connectors housed within a PCIe bracket and EMI shell. The PCIe bracket and EMI shell are braced to a low profile PCIe card. Each board-mount connector is designed to receive a cable connector and allows for the transmission and processing of high-speed data with lower latency. A removable latch mounted on the cable connectors helps ensure the cable connectors remain physically connected to the board-mount connectors. The removable latch may be replaced as needed for breakage and wear and tear.

Abstract
Method and apparatus are provided for performing in-circuit serial programming of microcontrollers embedded within the connectors of smart cables. The method and apparatus involve providing a connector for the smart cables wherein the serial programming pins of the microcontroller are brought out or otherwise electrically connected to the sockets or pins of the connector. These sockets or pins may then be used to program the microcontroller directly from the smart cable using substantially the same programming protocols that are used with socket programmers and in-circuit programmers, but without requiring a socket programmer or an in-circuit programmer.
