Abstract

A system (1) and a method for ensuring particular criteria for using a door (2) are disclosed, wherein a rotating mirror (4) deflects a laser beam into a plane (5) and thus scans at least one part of said plane (5). At the same time, the distance to a person (6) is determined on the basis of the reception time of the reflected laser (3) determined. The invention is characterized by an evaluation unit (9), in order to determine at least the number of persons (6) passing through the door in at least one direction on the basis of a temporally or locally varying height profile of said person (6) in the scanned plane, and a door control system (10) in order to prevent a plurality of persons from passing through the door (2) at the same time.
