Abstract

Disclosed herein is a method for improving performance of a hypervisor in a memory disaggregation environment. The method includes allocating memory pages to a virtual machine in preset units, comparing the address range of the page frame to be returned with a preset page size, and removing an address space mapping for the page frame to be returned depending on a result of comparison with the preset page size. Removing the address space mapping comprises removing the address space mapping on the basis of contiguous page frames when the range of the page frame to be returned is equal to or greater than the preset page size.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a bio-indigo production method using an eco-friendly bio-process. A bio-indigo production process, which increases solubility of indole and indigo by using a surfactant and a reducing agent, and continuously bio-converts indole into indigo, has been developed. Adsorbents and reducing agents enabled efficient removal and solubilization of indigo, respectively, and thereby enabled high yields of the bio-indigo production process. An adsorbent removal process and the use of an eco-friendly reducing agent can be easily applied to mass production of bio-indigo, and are expected to be widely utilized industrially such as in adsorbent recovery, indigo separation, continuous reaction, and bio-dyeing processes.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition including a GULP1 inhibitor as an active ingredient for the prevention or treatment of recurrent liver cancer. GULP1 associated with liver cancer recurrence was derived, and it was confirmed that selective inhibition of GULP1 effectively suppresses the proliferation, migration, and metastasis of liver cancer, particularly preventing the recurrence of liver cancer. As for the mechanism, the inhibition of GULP1 leads to interference with the binding of GULP1 to ARF6, thereby reducing the protein stability of ARF6-GTP and suppressing ARF6 activation, which in turn inhibits β-catenin activity, ultimately controlling the progression of EMT. Therefore, when used, the GULP1 inhibitor can prevent the progression and recurrence of liver cancer and thus may be as a highly promising new therapeutic option for liver cancer.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition comprising a low-molecular-weight compound as an active ingredient for preventing or treating cancer. Cancer is one of the most common causes of death worldwide, and there has been ongoing effort to discover new chemical anticancer agents beyond those traditionally used. The compounds provided in the present invention effectively inhibit the activity of isocitrate dehydrogenase or malic enzyme, thereby suppressing the survival of cancer cells and inducing their apoptosis. Thus, the compounds are expected to be actively used in the medical and healthcare fields.

Abstract

The present invention relates to humanized antibodies targeting human EphA10 and use thereof. The antibody specific to EphA10 or an immunologically active fragment thereof according to the present invention specifically bind to EphA10, a highly promising target for overcoming resistance and non-responsiveness to existing immune checkpoint inhibitor therapies. When created with the antibody, an ADC was found to specifically kill cancer cells. Therefore, it can be used as a therapeutic antibody for cancer treatment leveraging cancer cell death mechanisms via immune cell activation or for treating EphA10-expressing cancers, or as a cell therapeutic for treating EphA10-expressing cancers, and can also be used for cancer diagnosis.

Abstract

An inflammasome activates caspase-1 for cytokine maturation and cell death, and thus induces host defense in cells. An NLRP3 inflammasome promotes the release of highly inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and IL-18 to induce gasdermin D-mediated pyroptosis (pyroptotic cell death), and thus is involved in inflammatory processes. Therefore, targeting an NLRP3 pathway and modulating relevant immune responses can be a promising strategy for designing drug candidates for inflammatory diseases. A rationally designed α2-helix-based peptide NIP3 inhibits the NLRP3 pathway. NIP3 has remarkably inhibited both the secretion of NLRP3-induced IL-1β and IL-18 and the expression of downstream proteins in lipopolysaccharide-primed nigericin-activated THP-1 cells. In addition, binding energy data suggests that NIP3 has a stronger affinity for ASCPYD than for NLRP3PYD. Therefore, according to empirical and in silico results, NIP3 exclusively inhibits the NLRP3-ASC-caspase-1 pathway.

Abstract

The present invention relates to use of N6-methyladenosine-modified RP11-108M9.4 for diagnosing or treating recurrent liver cancer. RP11-108M9.4, which is a long non-coding RNA, was presented as a marker for predicting liver cancer recurrence and verified to have the ability to regulate metastasis/recurrence. In addition, the top molecular marker of RP11-108M9.4 was identified by chemical modification. In particular, RP11-108M9.4, which is a non-coding RNA related to liver cancer recurrence, presented in the present invention, is a novel RNA molecule that has not been previously reported, and by identifying the network between cancer cells and establishing various networks of the non-coding RNA by chemical modification, a new mechanism of liver cancer occurrence and metastasis/recurrence was presented through verification in in-vitro and animal experiments. Therefore, RP11-108M9.4 discovered in the present invention is highly likely to be used as a target for treating liver cancer recurrence or metastasis.

Abstract

The present invention provides a cell measurement device and method in which retroreflective particles are introduced to measure cells, and thus, an optical signal is obtained without fixing of life activity of cells and performing a separate staining process. An example of the use of retroreflection-based cytometry is evaluation of cell migration. The cells capture the retroreflective particles during cell migration or growth, and migrate in a state that the particles are captured in the cell or bind to the cells. The migrated cells are observed in a form of bright dots inside the cells under irradiation of white light as a non-spectroscopic light source to the cells in the retroreflective optical system. The number of bright spots is counted, and thus, the number of cells and the presence thereof thus can be easily measured based on an image.

A transmission apparatus of a single carrier-based wireless communication system is proposed. The transmission apparatus may include a transceiver, a memory configured to store one or more instructions; and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory. The processor may generate data symbols by modulating traffic data, generate a cyclic prefix (CP) on the basis of the data symbols, and generate a pilot symbol for the data symbol. The transceiver may transmit a single carrier frequency domain equalizer (SC-FDE) frame including the data symbol, the CP, and the pilot symbol. The data symbols may include first data symbols and second data symbols. The pilot symbol may be transmitted after transmission of the first data symbols and before transmission of the second data symbols.
