The invention relates to an apparatus for carrying out a resin transfer moulding (RTM) process and to an RTM process for producing in particular integral components, wherein the apparatus has an injection unit (10) and a closable mould (W) provided with a mould cavity (F), and the injection unit (10) can be coupled to the mould (W) in such a manner that an injection resin can be introduced into the mould (W), wherein the mould (W) has at least one resin outlet (3), which can be closed by means of a resin flow closing unit (5), is connected to the mould cavity (F) and from which injection resin can escape after the mould has been filled, wherein a measurement unit which detects the flow of resin escaping is arranged at or downstream of the resin outlet and is coupled to the resin flow closing unit (5) in such a way that the resin flow closing unit (5) closes if resin flow is detected by means of the measurement unit.
