Abstract

The invention relates to a method for determining the state of charge of a battery, wherein a functional relationship between the state of charge and the open-circuit voltage of the battery is empirically determined. In the determination of the functional relationship, the battery, which is completely charged at the beginning, is discharged with defined charges and open-circuit voltages are measured at several discharge steps of the battery, wherein states of charge of the battery are associated with the measured open-circuit voltages after the measurements. After the determination of the functional relationship, during operation of the battery, the state of charge is determined from an estimated open-circuit voltage on the basis of the functional relationship. In a first phase in the determination of the functional relationship between the state of charge and the open-circuit voltage, the battery is discharged in steps at constant amperages until the open-circuit voltage falls below a limit voltage, and then in a second phase the amperage is reduced in a further step and the battery is discharged further until the amperage falls below a limit amperage. The invention further relates to a device for performing such a method, wherein the device comprises at least one battery, a controller for controlling the input and output power in an open-loop or closed-loop manner, a computing unit for determining the state of charge of the battery, and a data memory, wherein the data of the functional relationship between the state of charge and the open-circuit voltage are stored in the data memory and the computing unit has access to the data memory.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing defined nano-scale coatings by specific adjustment of the rheological flow properties of a priming solution which is to be processed and optimization of the amphiphobic surface properties by means of subsequent energy input. Thereby it is possible to produce coatings having amphiphobic properties and to specifically adjust the layer thickness of the coatings at the same time. The method according to the invention comprises four process steps. First, the surface is coated by means of a Sol-Gel method with a solution comprising SiO2-Nano-particles. The drying and cross-linking of said coating occurs in the second method step and in the third method step the coating is treated by energetic radiation. Finally a second, fluorinated coating is applied.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for carbonising and/or graphitising oxidised polyacrylonitrile (PAN) in an inert atmosphere, in which the hydrogen cyanide (HCN) that is released is captured by reaction into a cyanide (RCN). The aim of the invention is to develop such a method which makes the cyanide produced easier to handle, transport and store. The problem is solved by reacting the hydrogen cyanide with an alkaline hydroxide or with an alkaline earth hydroxide (ROH) into the corresponding cyanide (RCN), and by performing the reaction in a released gaseous fluidised bed (14) which is liquefied by a gaseous medium and which contains hydrogen cyanide, aqueous alkaline and/or alkaline earth hydroxide, water and cyanide nuclei, in which fluidised bed the cyanide is obtained as a granular solid.

Abstract

The invention relates to modified extrusion-based 3D printing, in particular a modified Fused Deposition Modelling process, for producing multicoloured three-dimensional objects. In particular, the invention relates to a 3D printing process with which mechanically stable, multicoloured 3D objects can be produced with a particularly good colour image in comparison with the prior art. The process according to the invention is based on the concept that the polymer strand that is used for producing the actual object is coated before the print head and the coating is fixed before the polymer strand enters the print head. After the extrusion in the print head, the coating is largely still on the surface of the extruded strand. The coating may be coloured or contain functional additives.

Abstract

The present invention is concerned with processes for the enzymatic formation of amide bonds. More specifically the invention is concerned with the formation of amide bonds between amino acid esters acylated on the amino terminus to nicotinic acid or isonicotinic acid and amino compounds with the aid of proteases. The invention provides processes for amide formation employing amino acid esters, connected to nicotinoyl- or isonicotinoyl-groups via an amide bond on the amino terminus, that are more efficient than processes for amide formation employing amino acid esters carrying standard protecting groups such as benzoyl or Z on their amino terminus. In one aspect therefore, the present invention, further, relates to the protease mediated synthesis of organogellant compounds (OG) as depicted below wherein L is a linking moiety of molecular weight from 14 g/mol to 500 g/mol, one of X1, X2 is nitrogen and the other is carbon, and wherein R1 are sidechain substituents.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing aldehydes with five carbon atoms. A feed mixture containing 10 wt.% to 50 wt.% linear butenes and less than 5 wt.% 1-butene is hydroformylated with syngas in the presence of a rhodium and at least one catalyst system comprising bisphosphite ligands. The hydroformylation is carried out in a reactor from which a circulating gas containing at least some of the products and unreacted educts of the hydroformylation is continuously drawn over an operation time period; partially condensed and non-condensed fractions of the circulating gas are fed back into the reactor; and after the operation time period expires, the hydroformylation is interrupted, the reactor is freed of reaction residue, and the hydroformylation is carried out again. The aim of the invention is to design such a method so as to be more economical. This is achieved in that a bisphosphite of the formula (1) and/or (2) is used as the ligand, the operation time period is prolonged to over 8000 hrs, and the removal of solid reaction residue from the reactor is dispensed with during the ongoing operation time period.

Abstract

The invention provides a process for preparing trisilylamine and polysilazanes in the liquid phase, by metering ammonia dissolved in an inert solvent initially in a substoichiometric amount relative to monochlorosilane which is likewise present in inert solvent. The reaction is performed in a reactor in which trisilylamine, formed according to the following equation: 4 NH3 + 3 H3SiCl --> 3 NH4Cl + (SiH3)3N, and polysilazanes are formed. The reactor is subsequently decompressed and TSA is removed from the product mixture in gaseous form. The TSA obtained is purified by filtration and distillation and is obtained in high or ultrahigh purity. Subsequently, further ammonia dissolved in inert solvent is metered into the reactor, in the course of which, together with the amount of ammonia introduced beforehand, a stoichiometric excess of ammonia relative to the amount of MCS present beforehand is used. Excess ammonia is subsequently discharged, inert gas is introduced, and the bottom product mixture from the reactor is conducted through a filter unit, removing solid ammonium chloride, and a liquid mixture of polysilazanes and solvent is obtained.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel method which is suitable, for example, for producing composite materials with cores made from hard foams. It is the advantage of the invention here that both the foam material and the plastic of the top layer can be selected freely. In particular, the present method can also be used to process top layers, the processing temperature of which differs clearly from those of the core material. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method, by way of which integral foam structures can be compressed partially in a second embodiment. It is possible by way of a third embodiment to produce a hollow body with particularly high-quality joints from at least two workpieces of a foam by welding. This can take place here with or without top layers. Moreover, it is particularly satisfactorily possible by way of the present method to process foam materials by means of a vacuum moulding process.

Abstract

The invention relates to a new type of method for marking or coating surfaces, such as floors, flat roofs, balconies, and metal structures, and in particular roadways, such as streets. Said new type of method is characterized in that the method enables simplified application of reactive-resin-bonded coating masses as a one-component system in comparison with the prior art and at the same time can be carried out without the addition of procedurally critical substances such as peroxides as a second initiator component, which addition is otherwise necessary for said systems. In the conventional method, the reactive mass must be processed within the so-called pot life; otherwise, the curing reaction starts in the container or in the spraying machine and leads to malfunctions. Said new method is characterized in that a reactive resin system is applied to a surface without the addition of an initiator and is then cured by means of a plasma. Because the apparatus to be used to apply the road marking must be as simple as possible, a so-called atmospheric-pressure plasma is used as a radical source. The invention also relates to a machine for curing such a coating or a machine for applying and then curing the coating. Furthermore, the new type of method according to the invention can be quickly carried out in a very wide temperature range and leads to quick restoration of trafficability, for example of marked road surfaces.
