Abstract

The invention relates to a device for sealing an oven chamber of a coking plant. The invention is characterized in that a sealing frame (14) can be applied to the inlet opening of the oven chamber during charging with a coal cake. Sealing flaps (12, 20) protrude from said sealing frame and can be swiveled inwards by the coal cake (2) on opposite sides (15, 16), the free end edges of the flaps grazing the coal cake (2).
