Abstract

A valve for a vapour recovery system comprises a valve body (10) having an inlet and an outlet, a valve seat located within the valve body, a valve closure member (66) releasably engageable with the valve seat, a socket portion (12) for receipt of a pipe member (26) to be coupled, a plurality of engagement members (90) configured to be releasably engageable with a portion of a pipe member (26) received in the socket portion for releasably retaining the pipe member in the socket portion and an actuation member (24) mounted on the valve body. The actuation member (24) comprises a recess (94) for receipt of each of the engagement members and is displaceable between a first position in which the engagement members (90) are received in the recesses (94) in the actuation member and a second position in which the actuation member urges the engagement members inwardly towards a deployed configuration in which they engage with and retain a pipe member located in the socket portion.

Abstract

A fluid transfer coupler comprises engagement means, such as a frusto-conical flange (16), for releasable engagement with a complementarily shaped fitting, retaining means (18) configured to releasably retain the complementarily shaped fitting, a valve seat (24), valve closure means (22) releasably engageable with the valve seat, a crank member (32),means such as a handle (36) for rotatably displacing the crank member around its rotational axis and a connecting member (26) pivotally connected to the crank member (32) and connected to the valve closure means (22). The crank member (32) is mounted on separate first and second coaxial spindle members (34, 60) which define the rotational axis of the crank member.

Abstract

A cap (22) for a fluid coupling member (10) has an overhanging flange or lip (32) which extends part of the way around the periphery of the cap body (24). The lip (32) defines a slot (33) which allows the cap to be slid over the end of the coupling member (10) whereby the lip (32) engages around and behind a peripheral securing flange (36) of the coupling member, thereby preventing removal of the cap in the flow direction of the coupling member. The cap also has a poppet valve (28) which, when retracted, allows the cap to be slid onto the coupling member and which can be extended into engagement with the coupling member, thereby preventing lateral movement of the cap and disengagement of the lip (32) and the coupling member in the lateral direction.

Abstract

A discharge valve assembly has a valve housing (10), an inlet (12), an outlet (14) and a flow passage (11 ) extending between the inlet and the outlet. A shut-off valve (24) is mounted on the housing (10) adjacent the inlet (12) and a flow control valve (60) is mounted on the housing (10) adjacent the outlet (14). The shut-off valve (24) is displaceable in the upstream direction in an open position and comprises a shaft (46) pivotally mounted and located externally of the flow passage (11 ), actuating means (134) located externally of the valve body and connected to the shaft for pivotally the latter and an arm (36) connected to the shaft and connecting to the valve closure member only on its downstream side, the arm extending through an aperture 40) in the wall of the flow passage located downstream of the valve seat

Abstract

A valve assembly has a valve housing (10), an inlet (12), an outlet (14) and a flow passage (11) extending between the inlet and the outlet. A shut-off valve (24) is mounted on the housing (10) adjacent the inlet (12) and a flow control valve (60) is mounted on the housing (10) adjacent the outlet (14).
