Abstract

The corrugated cardboard production line comprises, in one or more critical positions of the line, where jamming of the corrugated cardboard is more likely to occur, one or more video cameras. The video camera frames the area at risk of jamming and captures images of the corrugated cardboard. In case of jamming, this is detected by processing the captured images, with a process that highlights the generation of creases or abnormal distortions of the corrugated cardboard.

Abstract

A corrugated board production line is described, comprising at least one corrugator and a double facer. A feeding bridge of single faced corrugated board from the corrugator towards the double facer is arranged between the corrugator and the double facer. A video camera frames at least one portion of the bridge. A stock of single faced corrugated board forms on the bridge, in the form of festoons, which move along the bridge. The amount of stock of corrugated board is a function of the number of festoons on the bridge, and hence of the location of the festoon in the most advanced position along the bridge, in the direction of feed from the corrugator to the double facer. Through images captured by the video camera it is possible to obtain information on the location of the most advanced front of the stock and hence on the amount of single faced corrugated board found on the bridge.

Abstract

Images of a basket associated with a cross cutter of a corrugated cardboard production line are captured through a video camera. The basket is configured and positioned to collect trimmings of corrugated cardboard cut by means of the cross cutter from a continuous corrugated cardboard that advances along the production line. By processing the captured images, the level of filling of the basket is detected to notify an operator when it is necessary to remove the accumulated trimmings.

Abstract

A new method is disclosed for monitoring the operation of a corrugated board production plant, the method provides for detecting at least one operational parameter of a functional unit of the plant, for example a current absorbed by a motor. Then, the current value of a statistical function of the operational parameter is calculated in a current temporal window. The maximum value and the minimum value of the same statistical function are calculated based on historicized data of the operational parameter in question. By comparing the current value of the statistical function and the maximum and minimum values, a piece of information of predictive diagnostics is obtained.
