Abstract

The invention describes a system for generating electricity on a moving vessel. The system comprises a rotatable propeller unit (1) having a propeller with foldable propeller blades, wherein the propeller blades can move between a folded position with the propeller blades substantially aligned with a longitudinal direction of the propeller unit (1) and an unfolded position with the propeller blades (7) substantially directed perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the propeller unit (1) and wherein the propeller blades are blocked against further movement past the perpendicular direction when in the unfolded position. Furthermore, the system comprises a generator (14) generating electricity from power provided by the propeller unit and power transfer means (16) for transferring rotational power between the propeller unit (1) and the generator (14). The rotatable propeller unit (1) is at least rotatable in a substantially horizontal plane between a forward pointing position and a rearward pointing position.

Abstract

A drive device for a vessel includes an electric motor, driving a rotatable drive shaft; an elongate drive device housing, encapsulating the electric motor and the drive shaft; and a propeller, detachably mounted to the rotatable drive shaft. The drive device housing has an upper connection device. The upper connection device is symmetrical about a transverse axis, enabling the drive device housing to be mounted to a structure onboard the vessel in either of two longitudinal directions. The drive device and the hull of the vessel are separated from each other by using an isolation plate with a central isolation sleeve. The electric motor drives the drive shaft via an interconnected gear device encapsulated in the drive device housing or integrated as a part of the drive device housing and are arranged pivotably with respect to the tilt device housing.

Abstract

A vibration dampening device for interconnecting an electric propulsion device for a vessel and a hull portion of the vessel has been disclosed. A substantially cylindrical tube protrudes vertically down from the underside of the hull portion of the vessel into a substantially cylindrical, vertical recess provided at the upper portion of the electric propulsion device. The vibration dampening device comprises an elastic material that fills the cavity defined by the substantially cylindrical, vertical recess and the substantially cylindrical tube.

Abstract

16 ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to a drive device for a vessel, in particular for a boat which has a non-electrical primary propulsion, such as a sailboat, houseboat, a historical vessel or a replica of a historical vessel. The drive device is also designed 5 as a retrofittable drive device. The drive device comprises an electric motor, driving a rotatable drive shaft; an elongate drive device housing, encapsulating the electric motor and the drive shaft; and a propeller, detachably mounted to the rotatable drive shaft. The drive device housing has an upper connection device which is symmetrical about a transverse axis. This enables the drive device housing to be 10 mounted to a structure onboard the vessel in either of two longitudinal directions. The drive device may further comprise a tilt device arranged to tilt the drive device between a lowered, operational position and a raised-non-operational position. Fig. 1 15
