Abstract
The invention relates to a device for composting biowaste (1) using a worm reactor (2), wherein an insertion opening (6) is provided in order to fill the worm reactor (2). The aim of the invention is to allow a device for composting biowaste using a worm reactor to be provided with which a high-quality worm humus can be produced even with a plurality of different inexperienced users without negatively impacting the ecological balance in the worm reactor in the process. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the worm reactor (2) is paired with a sensor (7a, 7b, 7c) for detecting the actual value of the worm reactor contents (3), the insert opening (6) can be closed by a closure unit (9), and the closure unit (9) and the sensor (7a, 7b, 7c) are connected to a control unit (8) which actuates the closure unit (9) on the basis of the detected actual value and a specified target value range.

Abstract
The invention relates to a method for composting biowaste (1) using a worm reactor (2). Biowaste (1) is converted by worms (5) in the worm reactor (2), and the worm humus extract (9) produced by the worms (5) upon converting the biowaste (1) is collected in a receiving basin (8). The aim of the invention is to allow a method for composting biowaste (1) using a worm reactor (2) to be provided which allows the composting of large quantities of biowaste (1) without negatively impacting the ecological balance in the worm reactor (2) in the process. According to the invention, this is achieved in that upon detecting biowaste (1) which has not been wetted with the worm humus extract (9), a spray device (12) which is fluidically connected to the receiving basin (8) is activated in order to wet the biowaste (1).
