The invention is directed to a refill unit (34) for a use in a product dispensing system (36) including a dispenser housing (37) having an actuating device (40) that engages an actuating carriage (47), the refill unit comprising: (i) a product reservoir (35), (ii) a pump (25), (iii) a flexible connecting member (1) fluidly connected to the outlet tube of the pump, and (iv) a spacer (15) for positioning the pump (25) and for coupling the refill unit (34) in the dispenser housing (37). The pump section (26) is provided with an oval or ellipse shaped opening (29) in which opening the flexible connecting member (1) is positioned. The flexible connecting member (1) comprises of a main body, a conduit and two finger members (7) which finger members are received by and connected to two corresponding surfaces (46) of the actuating carriage (47).

The invention is directed to a method to determine the fluid volume as discharged from a fluid container by activating a moveable actuator, wherein the displacement of the moveable actuator is measured in time by one or more magnetometer sensors resulting in displacement data and wherein the volume of fluid as discharged is determined by using the displacement data. Abstract

The invention is directed to a storage holder, destined for placement in a liquid or foam dispenser, comprising a liquid reservoir, a pump and a plug extension. The liquid reservoir is provided with a plug having a cylindrical opening and an oval shaped exterior surface. The pump is connected to the plug by a clamping connection between pump suction tube and the plug opening. The plug extension comprises means to couple the storage holder to the liquid or foam dispenser and is connected to the plug outer surface of the plug by means of a snap connection or a clamping connection. Furthermore any rotational movement of pump relative to the plug extension is avoided by making use of male and female members.

Abstract

A storage holder for placement in a liquid or foam dispenser includes a liquid reservoir having an opening and a plug provided in the opening. The storage holder also includes a pump having a pump section and an inlet tube extending from the pump section. The storage holder further includes a spacer having an opening for the inlet tube, with the spacer being positioned between the pump section and the plug so that a defined distance is provided between the pump section and the plug. The spacer is fixed at a position relative to the plug and relative to the pump only by a clamping connection between the inlet tube and the plug. The spacer is not connected to the pump and the spacer is not connected to the plug such that spacer may be separated from the pump and the plug when the pump is pulled out of the plug.
