The shelf has a plurality of interior through apertures through which sporting equipment may hang supported by the shelf and the shelf further has one or more shelf protrusions for hanging sporting equipment. A system for drying sporting equipment has a free-standing base, spaced-apart telescoping struts connected to and extending upwardly from the base, a substantially horizontal hanger support connecting the telescoping struts and an apparatus as described above configured to hang from the hanger support.
