The multipurpose room comprises a floor, a number of seat members and a carriage capable of carrying the seat members and capable of displacement along the floor between a storage area and a multipurpose area. A guide element is mounted to the carriage. Guide members are provided in the multipurpose room, distinct from the carriage guide element and capable of cooperating with the carriage guide element for guiding the carriage in its movement at least in the multipurpose area. The seat members can be unloaded from the carriage to be installed on the floor in the multipurpose area and removed from the floor to be loaded on the carriage.
