A chair mat has a top that is a rug or carpet so that the chair mat has the appearance of an area rug. A woven or knitted rug is attached to a mesh material that can carry the loads that are applied to the rug top to hold the rug top from stretching or bunching when casters of a wheeled chair move over the rug top. The chair mat has a rigid layer to which a woven or knitted rug is attached to provide a hard underlying surface over when the wheeled chair may more easily move. The chair mat may be hinged to permit the chair mat to be folded to a smaller configuration where it is more readily stored or transported.
B32B 5/02 - Layered products characterised by the non-homogeneity or physical structure of a layer characterised by structural features of a layer comprising fibres or filaments
B32B 7/12 - Interconnection of layers using interposed adhesives or interposed materials with bonding properties
B32B 21/08 - Layered products essentially comprising wood, e.g. wood board, veneer, wood particle board comprising wood as the main or only constituent of a layer, next to another layer of a specific substance of synthetic resinLayered products essentially comprising wood, e.g. wood board, veneer, wood particle board comprising wood as the main or only constituent of a layer, next to another layer of a specific substance of fibre-reinforced resin

A bamboo Chair pad that can be manufactured from 100% Anji Mountain bamboo from China. The bamboo is all treated with various protective coatings to add resistance to natural factors including water, sun and dirt. All bamboo chair pads can be manufactured from the harder portions of the bamboo trunk. (Some bamboo is manufactured from the softer fibers of the inside of the bamboo trunk). This portion of the bamboo trunk is not utilized for this invention. The bamboo utilized in the present inventions is taken from the harder part of the bamboo trunk to assure maximum endurance and longevity. The lower trunk portion of the bamboo plant is harder and less porous.
A chair pad has foldable panels for movement and shipment. A hard wood chair pad forms from multiple elongated rigid planks, processed like hardwood flooring. The chair pad provides a substantially rigid surface that folds easily for transport and shipping. The rigid planks utilized in the chair pad, similar to hardwood flooring planks, have sufficient thickness such that when they are bonded in an adjacent side by side abutting manner along the longer lengthwise edges similar to some hardwood flooring and further bonded to a backing in an adjacent side by side manner, the planks form a substantially rigid surface. The planks connect adjacently lengthwise along their long side edges.
