Abstract

The flat foil printing press has an evacuable back-pressure plate (9), with suction regions (15k) which run in the sheet running direction (X) next to embossing regions (16k), in which foil webs (6k) run. The suction regions are divided into a plurality of suction segments (10i) which follow one another in the sheet running direction and in each case are connected by way of a vacuum feed line (12i) via a vacuum switching element (13i) to a vacuum source (14). When an embossed sheet (5) runs out, first of all all the suction segments (10i) which are covered by the sheet are evacuated, and subsequently the suction segments which are no longer covered by the sheet are switched off one after another from the vacuum source. This results in fault-free separation of foil webs and sheets for higher image quality and machine performance.

Abstract

The register insertion apparatus for sheet-fed embossing machines with position sensors (S1, S2, S3) for detecting printing marks (P1, P2, P3) of a sheet (5), comprises a register plate (15) capable of being pivoted down as feeder table with ventilation openings (20) and vacuum feed lines (21) to a suction apparatus (22) and front stops (12), which are capable of being lowered and actuators (L1, L2, L3) for positioning the register plate in X-direction and in Y-direction. With a register controller (11) the register plate (15) is pivoted down, a gripper bar (8) is brought up to it, the register plate pivoted up again, then a sheet (5) is fed-in and stopped at the front stops (12). Thereupon the register plate is evacuated for sucking on and fixing the sheet on the register plate. Then the positions of the printing marks (P1, P2, P3) are detected by the position sensors, from this the register correction values (X1, X2, Y3) are calculated and the register plate by means of the actuators (L1, L2) in X-direction and by means of the actuator (L3) in Y-direction is moved into the desired position (P1S, P2S, P3S). Then the sheet is gripped by the gripper bar, the register plate (15) is ventilated and the sheet is transported on by the gripper bar. This results in an automatic register correction at high machine speeds and with the highest print quality.

Abstract

For each film web, the embossing machine comprising a film web guide device (2) for a plurality of film webs (6), which are guided from unwinding reels over a die (3) on a flat bed press, has film drawing devices behind the die and individual, long, central symmetrically configured guide webs (11.1, 11.2, 11.3), which can be set in the transverse direction Y relative to the drawing direction X, as film tensioning devices in front of the die. The guide webs have a smooth, low-friction surface (12) with suction openings (14), which are connected to controllable negative pressure sources (13.1, 13.2, 13.3) for the independent setting of the negative pressure (pi) and brake force (zfi) at each individual guide web (1 Ii). To this end, each picture film web (6i) is associated with a picture mark sensor (15i) between the film drawing device (9i) and the guide web (1 Ii) and also with settable lateral guide elements (30) provided on both sides on low-friction diverting elements (31, 32) directly in front of the guide webs and behind the die (3), wherein said lateral guide elements can guide the picture film webs centered on the guide webs. In this way, each picture film web (6i) can be optimally set for the picture marks in the X and Y directions while the machine is running, thereby minimizing picture position errors.

Abstract

The register insertion apparatus for sheet-fed relief printing presses having position sensors (S1, S2, S3) for detecting printing marks (P1, P2, P3) of a sheet (5) has a register plate (15) which can be pivoted away as feed table having ventilation openings (20) and vacuum feed lines (21) to a suction apparatus (22) and front stops (12) which can be lowered and actuators (L1, L2, L3) for positioning the register plate in the X-direction and in the Y-direction. By way of a register controller (11), the register plate (15) is pivoted away, a gripper bar (8) is guided up to it, the register plate is pivoted up again, then a sheet (5) is fed in and stopped at the front stops (12). The register plate is then evacuated in order to suck and fix the sheet to the register plate. The positions of the printing marks (P1, P2, P3) are then detected by the position marks, the register correction values (X1, X2, Y3) are calculated from this and the register plate is moved into the desired position (P1S, P2S, P3S) by the actuators (L1, L2) in the X-direction and by the actuator (L3) in the Y-direction. The sheet is then gripped by the gripper bar, the register plate (15) is ventilated and the sheet is transported further by the gripper bar. This results in automatic register correction at high machine speeds and with very high print quality.
