Abstract

A device for securing a blanket which can reduce mechanical vibration and can shorten the time when the print pressure does not act while exhibiting excellent mechanical strength, economy and maintainability. A method for securing a blanket is also provided. The device (1) for securing a blanket comprises a cam plate (2) received in a cam plate receiving groove (52) formed in the blanket cylinder (5) movably in the direction of central axis, and a securing pin (3) embedded movably in the blanket cylinder (5) and being driven by the cam plate (2). The securing pin (3) secures the leading end (63) and the following end (64) inserted into a blanket insertion groove (51) when the cam plate (2) moves to the securing position, and releases the leading end (63) and the following end (64) thus secured when the cam plate (2) moves to the releasing position.
