Abstract

Provided are: a detoxification treatment material for a pollutant, which makes it possible to purify harmful organic compounds (e.g., PFOS, PFOA, TCDD, DDT) contained in polluted soil, polluted water and the like, heavy metals, mineral oils, animal and plant oils, organic solvents and the like at reduced cost, in a simple manner, and without burdens on the environment; a method for producing the detoxification treatment material; and a method for using the detoxification treatment material. The detoxification treatment material for a pollutant comprises: a soil support selected from the group consisting of rock, stone, gravel, soil, mud, silt, clay and a granule of each of these materials; and a titanium oxide-containing photocatalyst coated on the surface of the soil support. The decomposition of a pollutant or the inactivation of a pollutant can be achieved simply by putting the detoxification treatment material for a pollutant into polluted soil or polluted water.

Abstract

[Object] [Object] To provide granulated sintered clay that is porous with micropores and mesopores and has high hardness that does not collapse even in water. [Object] To provide granulated sintered clay that is porous with micropores and mesopores and has high hardness that does not collapse even in water. [Solution] [Object] To provide granulated sintered clay that is porous with micropores and mesopores and has high hardness that does not collapse even in water. [Solution] Provided is granulated sintered clay having a differential pore volume with a pore diameter of 10 nm or less of 0.06 cm3/g or more in a pore distribution curve measured by a nitrogen gas adsorption method, a hardness to collapse at a planar load of 180 g to 1200 g in a crushing test, and a silicon dioxide content of 35 mass % to 95 mass %.

Abstract

Provided is a burnt and granulated clay that has a porous structure with micropores and mesopores and does not lose the shape even in water due to the high hardness thereof. The burnt and granulated clay according to the present invention shows a differential pore capacity of 0.06 cm3/g or more in a pore diameter range of not more than 10 nm in a pore distribution curve measured by the nitrogen gas adsorption method, has a hardness of 180-1200 g inclusive under in-plane load in a burst test, and contains 35-95 mass% inclusive of silicon dioxide.
