[PROBLEMS] To provide an escalator in which fall-down accident and static electricity charge are prevented, and replacement of advertisement display part is facilitated and prevented from being peeled by tampering by so showing, on the surface of a handrail belt, the moving direction of the handrail belt as to be easily seen from the front and the sides of the handrail belt. [MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] A printed sheet (6) different in color from the handrail belt (5) and having direction indication marks (6A) for indicating the moving direction of the handrail belt from the flat surface part (5A) to both edge parts (5B) of the handrail belt (5) at intervals (P) at least one of which is present in the semi-circular portion (H) of the inversion part of the handrail belt is stuck on the surface of the handrail belt (5). The escalator may comprise a roller body formed of a conductor material. A short sheet showing advertisement may be stuck on the surface of a long sheet (6). A short sheet showing advertisement may be stuck in a cutout area provided on the surface of the long sheet (6). A short sheet having a colored edge of a predetermined width colored similarly to the surface color of the handrail belt (5) may be stuck at the sticking end of the short sheet. Abstract

A handrail belt and escalator capable of preventing a falling accident at a landing of the escalator and a passenger from going in the opposite direction of the escalator. The handrail belt (5) has a flat surface section (5A) and both edge sections (5B) and moves in synchronous with steps (4) of the escalator (1), turning around at turn around sections (11A, 11B) to change its movement direction from a forward run to a return run. The handrail belt (5) a printed sheet (6) on its surface and has a substantially C-shaped cross-section. The printed sheet (6) has direction display bodies (6A, 6B) displaying the direction of its movement. Thedirection display bodies (6A, 6B) have a color different from a ground color of the printed sheet (6) and are separately arranged on the flat surface section (5A) and both edge sections (5B) of the handrail belt (5). The direction display bodies (6A, 6B) are arranged with intervals where at least either of the direction display bodies (6A, 6B) is present in the turn around sections (11A, 11B).

Abstract

[PROBLEMS] To provide a handrail for a moving passage enabling confirmation of the running direction of the moving passage such as an escalator from diagonal direction as well as from a distant position. [MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] This handrail (11) comprises a core (111) (made of canvas, steel cord, etc.) and an elastic body (112) (made of styrene butadiene rubber or the like)for covering the core. A composite band-like body (21) having a plurality of band-like parts with different brightness in the longitudinal direction (low-brightness band-like part (211), medium-brightness band-like part (212), high-brightness band-like part (213)) is repeatedly provided on the surface of the elastic body in the longitudinal direction. The difference in respective brightness indicated by the L*a*b* color system is 10 to 40. The color phases of respective band-like parts are the same.
