Abstract

The invention relates to a gearbox which includes an input shaft (2) connected to the engine, an output shaft (3) connected to the wheels of the vehicle or a flywheel mass, and a series of gears for transmitting the rotation of the input shaft (2) to the output shaft (3). The invention is characterised in that the gearbox includes an impeller module (4) rotatably secured to the input shaft (2) and a reducer module (6) rotatably secured to the output shaft (3), said reducer module (6) rotating in the same direction as or the opposite direction to the impeller module (4) and said reducer module (6) rotating by means of inertia when the rotation of the input shaft (2) is slowing down.
