Abstract

A device for emitting ultraviolet light comprising a bar (13) provided with carbon nanotubes, a first layer (11) composed of a first cathode material that is luminescent in the UV-C ultraviolet light radiation region in order to excite this first cathode luminescent material by electrons with energy between 1 keV and 8 keV, a second layer (12), composed of a second electrically conductive metal material, and a chamber (10) composed of a third material, transparent for UV-C ultraviolet light radiation. The first layer (11) is arranged in mechanical contact with the chamber (10), along an inner wall of the chamber. The second layer (12) is arranged in mechanical contact with the first layer (11). The bar (13) is arranged inside the chamber (10), facing the second layer (12). The second metal layer (12) has a thickness suitable for making it partially transparent to electrons with energy between 1 keV and 8 keV.
