Abstract

With reference to Figure 1, the present invention provides an interactive toy (1) comprising: a body (2); a sensor (16) which senses movement of the body (2) as a whole and has an output; an electronic memory (14) having a plurality of stored sounds; a sound generator (18); and a processor (12). The processor (12) receives the sensor output. The processor (12) controls the sound generator (18) to issue an audible instruction selected by the processor (12) from the sounds stored by the memory (14). The audible instruction has an expected sensor output associated therewith. The processor (12) compares the received sensor output with the expected sensor output. Then the processor (12) controls the sound generator (18) to play a further sound selected from the memory (14) by the processor. The selection of the further sound varies in dependence on whether the received sensor output matches the expected sensor output.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a puzzle and a method of assembling a puzzle from a plurality of planar puzzle pieces. More particularly, the invention relates to a puzzle (110) having pieces (112) which, when stacked upon each other on completion of the puzzle, define in relief a recognisable image (e.g. of a building or a character). The puzzle (110) comprises a plurality of inter -engaging pieces (112), wherein: each puzzle piece has on a planar surface thereof a part of an image which is shown as a whole once the puzzle pieces are assembled together in a completed planar jigsaw puzzle (110); each puzzle piece has a first edge (114) of a first shaped profile; and when the puzzle pieces (112) are removed from the completed planar jigsaw puzzle (110) in a pre-determined sequence related to positioning of the puzzle pieces in the completed planar jigsaw puzzle and stacked in the pre -determined sequence then the first edges (114) of the stacked puzzle pieces (112) together define in relief a recognisable image on a first side of the stack.

An apparatus for playing a game comprising a playing surface 4.2) having a first area (14) and a second area (17), a &rgr;rojectile(24), at least two propulsion devices (8). First and second sets of playing pieces 12,16) are provided, each playing piece having a lower peg portion, and a substrate (18) overlaying and spaced above the playing surface and extending across both the first and second areas of the playing surface. In a game, the playing pieces are located on the substrate above the first area of the playing surface, with their peg portions extending below the substrate, and each propulsion device is capable of propelling the projectile such that the projectile can impact with a peg portion of a playing piece and thereby dislodge the playing piece.

The present invention provides an electronic game apparatus for a Sudoku game.
