Abstract

The invention relates to a method for cleaning cephalopods and to a machine for implementing same. The method includes a series of operations which are performed in a machine (1) having a compact frame and posts (6) in the form of a scraper screw (11) and a rotary circular table (5) which moves forwards making sequential stops at operating stations (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) positioned thereabove and, in particular, sequential stops for internal cleaning operations (13) in which the body (2) of a cephalopod is positioned opposite an operating station having internal cleaning means (13) which act under the effect of a difference in friction when the body (2) is gripped externally with a flexible constrictor (13C) and alternately rotated in relation to the scraper screw (11). The machine also includes operating stations including fine (16) and coarse (14) external cleaning means with elastic fingers (14A, 16A) that are designed to move from the top of the epidermis of the body (2) downwards.
