A storage receptacle (10) comprising at least one separate disposable cylinder (12) for at least one unused or one used dental cleaning means or both an unused and a used dental cleaning means, wherein the storage receptacle (10) is configured to be able to receive the disposable cylinder (12) in that the outer shape and size of the disposable cylinder are complementarily adapted to the inner shape and size of the storage receptacle (10). The invention further comprises a storage set (30) for at least one dental cleaning means, the storage set (30) comprising at least one storage receptacle (10) with at least one disposable cylinder (12) for at least one unused or used dental cleaning means, wherein the at least one storage receptacle (10) is configured to be able to receive the at least one disposable cylinder (12) in that the outer shape and size of the at least one disposable cylinder are complementarily adapted to the inner shape and size of the at least one storage receptacle, and wherein the storage set (30) further comprises a tray (32) on which the at least one storage receptacle (10) is permanently or detachably arranged.
