Abstract

The invention relates to a mechanism for securing, removing and installing vehicle tyres, comprising a support body having three equiangularly separated accommodating means, wherein the support body is assembled in a hub flange of a vehicle by means of fastening means. Also included are three linear actuators, with each linear actuator being disposed for operation in one of the accommodating means of the support body. In addition, the mechanism comprises a rim with three equiangularly separated supports. Furthermore, the rim is assembled for operation with the linear actuators. The mechanism for securing, removing and installing vehicle tyres has a power unit connected for operation with the linear actuators. The power unit can be hydraulic or electromechanically driven. Preferably, the linear actuators are single-acting. In this way, the mechanism permits the securing of wheels to hub flanges of vehicles, as well as the installing and removal of tyres with a single command, for example with the press of a button.
