Abstract

A traveling toy wherein one wheel is adapted to rotate at a high speed a flywheel for rotating the other wheel. A traveling toy (2) is provided with wheels (31, 21) rotatably mounted to the front and rear of the traveling toy. One wheel (31) is mounted to a wheel mounting member (41), and the other wheel (21) is configured so as to be driven by a flywheel (22). A toy body (2) is provided with a group (10) of gears for rotating the flywheel (22). The wheel mounting member (41) has a driving gear (49) to which the rotation of said wheel (31) is transmitted. Also, the wheel mounting member (41) is movably provided to the toy body (2) so that the driving gear (49) can engage with and be disengaged from the group (10) of gears, and the wheel mounting member (41) is provided with an elastic member (50) for pressing the driving gear (49) in the direction in which the driving gear (49) separates from the group (10) of gears.
