Abstract

A power mechanism applicable to a workout machine for body building and recreational activities comprises two sub-power mechanisms provided at left and right sides. Each sub-power mechanism comprises a pedal (1), a drive sprocket (3), a chain (4), a main drive castor (5), a fixed gear (6) and a large plate gear (7). The pedal is connected to the drive sprocket by means of a pedal crank (2). The drive sprocket is fittedly connected to the chain. There are two fixed gears meshing with the chain. The two fixed gears are respectively positioned at two sides of the drive sprocket, and are driven to rotate by the chain. Each fixed gear is fixedly provided at the large pate gear. The large plate gear meshes with a linear gear rack (8) provided at a steel water flow pipe assembly (29). The main drive castor is provided at a rear side of the large plate gear. The main drive castor fits a load-bearing guide rail (9) at the steel water flow pipe assembly. Also provided is a workout machine comprising the power mechanism. The machine enables a user to maximize their strength when quickly moving forward or backward.
