KNITTING TOOL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A KNITTING TOOL
The invention relates to a knitting tool (1) for knitting machines. The knitting tool (1) has a brake device (7) which is bent in a spring portion (5) in such a way that it provides a spring force during the knitting operation. By means of this spring force, a retaining force is provided during the knitting operation, which prevents unwanted movements of the knitting tool (1) during the knitting operation. The side faces of the knitting tool (1) are worked in the spring portion (5) in such a way that they have a smaller surface area per length unit than in at least one shaft portion (8) adjoining the spring portion. With a knitting tool (1) having this feature, the accumulation of dirt and fibre abrasion can surprisingly be reduced. It is able to be produced favourably and with constant quality.
A textile tool part pair (15) consisting of two textile tool parts (16) and a method of equipping a textile machine with the aid of such a textile tool part pair (15) are disclosed. Each textile tool part (16) extends in a longitudinal direction (L) between a trailing end (21) and a leading end (22). Proceeding from the trailing ends (21) thereof, the textile tool parts (16) extend away from one another and counter to one another as far as the leading end (22). At the trailing ends (21), the two textile tool parts (16) of a common textile tool part pair (15) are interconnected by a predetermined breaking connection (45). The predetermined breaking connection (45) can be manually separated without tools, in particular by bending about a bending axis (A).

The functional element (8) connects operatively in such a way with the hole (7) in the needle (1) that it limits the freedom of movement of the slider (2) relative to the needle (1) to the slider's working portion (24)—i.e. prevents the slider from leaving the working portion (24) at the position of the functional element (8).
In recent years, more and more new fields of application for woven fabrics have become available, e.g. as a filter medium. Satisfying the requirements for such applications requires very fine woven fabrics that can be manufactured only by means of reeds having an accordingly small pitch. When manufacturing such reeds, the small distances between the dents of the reeds have an influence on physical effects, e.g. capillarity, which could be disregarded until now when manufacturing reeds having larger pitches. The aim of the invention is to specify a reed having a pitch of no more than 1/8 mm and a process for manufacturing same, taking into account these specificities.

The invention relates to a method for laser-beam-hardening regions (A) of a clothing wire (10) that are to be hardened. The clothing wire (10) is moved, during this process, in a conveying direction through a work space (26). An inert gas atmosphere is generated in the work space (26) by introducing inert gas (G) continuously or discontinuously. A laser beam field (27) is formed in the work space (26), and the regions (A) of the clothing wire (10) that are to be hardened are moved through this laser beam field. The regions (A) to be hardened are heated during this process. Following the exit from the laser beam field (27), the regions (A) that are to be hardened cool down and are hardened as they pass through this temperature profile. The hardening in the inert gas atmosphere in the work space (26) prevents the formation of oxide layers (scaling) and annealing colours.
