Abstract

An escape ladder (1), which can be permanently mounted to its place of use, stored in its collapsed storage position, and openably released to the position of use, in which the escape ladder (1) is in its extended position and thus accessible for the user, the escape ladder (1) comprising several ladder elements (2) comprising a steppable rung (21) and movably connected in relation to each other, and fastening tools (4) for securing the uppermost ladder element (2) to the building; the said ladder element (2) is formed of a bar, to which loop-type mountings (22) have been formed for securing the ladder element (2) to a second ladder element (2), vertical sections (23) for forming the distance between the rungs (21), and horizontal sections (24) for forming the distance between the rungs (21) and the building so that the vertical sections (23) are arranged to slide inside the loop-type mounting (22) when releasing the escape ladder (1) from the storage position to the position of use.
