Abstract

The invention relates to a casing for an opening (2) in an inside wall or outside wall, said casing comprising: opaque frame elements (4) covering an inner region (5) and an outer region (6) of the inside wall (3) or outside wall; and panel-type cladding elements (10) running between the frame elements (4), and covering edge sections (9) of the inside wall (3) or outside wall located within the opening (2). According to the invention, the casing is characterised in that: at least one section of at least one of the cladding elements (10) is made of a translucent material; and the surface of the translucent material is illuminated by a light source arranged in the casing. In this way, light can be integrated into a casing as a design and furnishing element, in an attractive and visually appealing manner.
