Abstract

The invention relates to a burner (1) for an apparatus operating with a liquid or gelled fuel, including a body (2) having an inner chamber (3) for containing the fuel, characterized in that it includes air-dispensing means arranged in the inner chamber (3) so as to be within the flames generated by the combustion of the fuel vapors with air in the inner chamber (3), in order to dispense air within the flames with a view to improving the combustion of the fuel vapors and reducing carbon monoxide emissions. The invention also relates to a burner assembly provided with such a burner (1), to an apparatus operating with a liquid or gelled fuel and provided with such a burner assembly, in particular an ethanol fireplace, and to a safety extinguishing method in the event of strong drafts for such a burner (1).
