Abstract

A secure display and vending machine including a housing to at least partially enclose at least one item available for display and purchase; at least one indexing mechanism; at least one support having a number of suspension elements spaced thereover, each for suspending an item therefrom, the at least one support associated with the at least one indexing mechanism to be indexed by the at least one indexing mechanism; at least one gate located relative to an end of the at least one support to actuate release of the item from the suspension element; and a control mechanism to accept payment for the at least one item and actuate the at least one indexing mechanism to advance to release the item from the suspension element.
