Abstract

A knife sharpener (1), comprising a first grinding drum (2), a second grinding drum (7) and a motor (13) arranged to rotationally drive either or both of the first grinding drum (2) and the second grinding drum (7). A first grinding portion (4) and a first gear (5) of the first grinding drum (2) are arranged concentrically therewith, the first grinding portion (4) having an outer diameter greater than that of the first gear (5). Correspondingly, a second grinding portion (9) and a second gear (10) of the second grinding drum (7) are arranged concentrically therewith, the second grinding portion (9) having an outer diameter greater than that of the second gear (10).

Abstract

A grinding element (1) for a knife sharpener (7), comprising a body having a radially outwardly opening annular groove (3) extending around the whole circumference of the body (2). The annular groove (3) defines a trough (4) as a radially innermost part of the groove, and a pair of annular side surfaces (5) arranged on opposing sides of the trough (4) facing each other. Inclinations (A, B) of the side surfaces (5) with respect to a normal (N) of the central axis (AC) is less at a radially outer portion (5b) of the side surfaces (5) than at a radially inner portion (5a) of the side surfaces (5). A knife sharpener (7) having such a grinding element (1) is also concerned.

Abstract

An electric pole pruner (1) having a spring returned cutting head (3) and equipped with a drive unit (6) comprising an electric motor (7) coupled to a drum (8) via an epicyclic gear assembly configured to reduce rotation speed and to increase torque. A string element (13) is coupled to the drum (8) of the drive unit (6), and to the cutting head (3) so as to actuate the latter. The pole pruner (1) further comprises a locking arrangement (14) configured to selectively lock or release a ring gear (11) of the gear assembly (9) so as to convert rotation of the electric motor (7) into rotation of the drum (8) when the ring gear (11) is locked, and to convert rotation of the drum (8) into rotation of the ring gear (11) when the ring gear (11) is released.
