Abstract
An adapter piece (28) according to the invention for fastening a shoulder rest (30) to a stringed instrument, having an adapter body (38) which is provided with at least four clamping fingers (32) which can be placed in engagement with an encircling base edge (12) of the stringed instrument to be supported, should keep the impairment of the sound of the instrument particularly low while providing high stability. For this purpose, at least two of the clamping fingers (32) are positioned such that they can be placed in engagement with the encircling base edge (12) in the region of the outer blocks (20) of the stringed instrument.
