Abstract

Pepper spray devices with insert-molded soft touch grips. The soft touch grip is disposed on an outer surface of a body for operatively receiving a product cannister. The soft touch grip forms a soft gripping surface on an outer surface of the body that is sized and shaped to conform to the shape of a user's palm and fingers wrapped around the outer surface of the body. The soft touch grip includes a front grip pad and a rear grip pad, each disposed in a respective recess in the outer surface of the body. The front and rear grip pads are overmolded into the recesses. One or more undercuts in the body mechanically secure the soft touch grip to the body.

Abstract

An air gun, a removable magazine for an air gun, and associated methods. The air gun includes a safety mechanism that in a safety-on position prevents the trigger from actuating the firing mechanism and closes the gas supply duct, and in a safety-off position enables the trigger to actuate the firing mechanism and opens the gas supply duct to enable actuating the firing mechanism with compressed gas to fire a projectile. The removable magazine includes, a projectile feeder, a cavity for a gas canister, a push valve for selectively releasing pressurized gas from the gas canister, and a valve actuator. The valve actuator includes a socket that releasably receives a nipple of a gas supply coupling carried by an air gun, forms a seal with the nipple, and opens the aerosol valve when coupled with the gas supply coupling.

Abstract

Dispensing systems, dispensers, and methods for dispensing a pressurized product from a container. Such a dispenser includes a cap, a nozzle within the cap so as to be translatable relative to the cap, an actuator within the cap so as to be translatable relative to the cap and relative to the nozzle, and a biasing member that urges the actuator and nozzle apart from each other. The nozzle is configured to attach to a valve stem of a canister and has a passageway through which the pressurized product is dispersed. The dispenser has a partially actuated position following a first actuation stage resulting from the actuator being translated until the actuator abuts the nozzle without causing the nozzle to translate, and a fully actuated position following a second actuation stage resulting from the actuator being further translated to cause the nozzle to simultaneously translate with the actuator.

Abstract

Dispensing systems, dispensers, and methods for dispensing a pepper spray or other irritant from a container.
