Abstract

Disclosed is a machine for manufacturing nonwoven material comprising glass microfiber, comprising: a forming unit (110, 110') for forming nonwoven material comprising glass microfiber, on a lower web (120) driven in a direction of travel, a smoothing unit (140) comprising an upper web (141) running in the direction of travel and extending such that the nonwoven material is held between the lower web and the upper web at the smoothing unit, and a plurality of portions (P1, P2), the plurality of portions defining a lower surface (SI) of the smoothing unit, which surface is pressed against the upper web at a location at which the upper web is in contact with the nonwoven material, wherein stronger suction is applied to the last portion.

Abstract

A machine for producing a sheet based on plant debris, such as reconstituted tobacco or reconstituted tea, is described. The machine comprises a pressing unit (11) extracting the water from the sheet solely under the effect of a pressing action applied by the pressing unit (11), which is formed of a shoe press. A process for producing a sheet based on plant debris, comprising a step of providing such a machine, is also described.
