Abstract

A metal coil compression device includes: a lifting device configured to generate a vertically downward pressing force; a cylindrical outer pressure barrel that is supported by the lifting device; a cylindrical inner pressure barrel that is located inside a peripheral wall of the outer pressure barrel; and a connecting mechanism that connects the inner and outer pressure barrels so that the inner and outer pressure barrels are vertically engaged and are supported relatively rotatably in a circumferential direction. The outer pressure barrel has an outer recess being recessed vertically upward from a bottom end. The inner pressure barrel has an inner recess in a peripheral wall of the inner pressure barrel, the inner recess being recessed vertically upward from a bottom end, and a coil pressing surface that makes contact with a top of the metal coil to transmit the vertically downward pressing force to the metal coil.

Abstract

This metal coil compression device pressurizes and compresses a metal coil in an axial core direction, the metal coil compression device being characterized by comprising: a raising/lowering device that generates a downward pressurizing force in the vertical direction; a cylindrical outer pressurization cylinder that is supported on the raising/lowering device so as to be freely movable in the vertical direction; a cylindrical inner pressurization cylinder that is disposed on the inside of a circumferential wall of the outer pressurization cylinder; and a joining mechanism that is disposed between the inner pressurization cylinder and the outer pressurization cylinder, engages therewith in the vertical direction, and joins the inner pressurization cylinder and the outer pressurization cylinder together so as to be supported to be freely rotatable relative to each other in the circumferential direction. The outer pressurization cylinder has, on the circumferential wall of the outer pressurization cylinder, an outer recess that is recessed upwards in the vertical direction from the bottom end. The inner pressurization cylinder has, on the circumferential wall of the inner pressurization cylinder, an inner recess that is recessed upwards in the vertical direction from the bottom end, and a coil pressurization surface that abuts the top part of the metal coil and transmits to the metal coil the pressurizing force which pressurizes the metal coil downward in the vertical direction. Due to this configuration, a compact movable metal coil automatic compression device is provided.
