The present technology relates to the field of sound insulation. More specifically, the present technology relates to sound damping features and techniques for use in building materials, including doors and door frames and hardware. Disclosed herein are door slabs having an outer skin, a constrainment sheet inside the outer skin, and a fill material inside the outer skin, where the constrainment sheet is curved. Door seals having a damping component and a bump-stopcomponent are also disclosed. Additionally disclosed are door bottom seals having a seal pan, a pressure member at least partially disposed in the seal pan, a sealing strip attached to a bottom surface of the seal pan, and a fill material disposed in the seal pan. Further disclosed are door frames having a male component, a female component, at least one gasket disposed therebetween and at least one angle bracket securing the male and/or female components.

The present invention relates to providing an acoustic diffuser. In particular, the present invention relates to systems and methods for providing an asymmetric cellular acoustic diffuser adapted to diffuse sound waves that encounter a surface. Further, the present invention relates to providing a system of asymmetric cellular acoustic diffusers adapted to diffuse sound waves that encounter one or more surfaces in an acoustic environment. In some embodiments, an acoustic diffusion device as contemplated herein includes a planer panel having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion and the second portion each having a plurality of cells formed asymmetrically thereon. In such embodiments, the plurality of cells of the first portion is symmetrically oriented in relation to the plurality of cells of the second portion.
