Abstract

The invention relates to a method for combating an aerial target (6) by means of a guided missile (1), wherein the guided missile (1) is launched following detection of the aerial target (6) and is steered on a course for combating the aerial target (6), wherein a flight path of the aerial target (6) is determined. Highly dynamic and hardened aerial targets (6) can be successfully combated in three-dimensional space by using a guided missile (1) with a hollow charge (7) disposed transversely to the principal axis of the missile, wherein the course of the guided missile (1) is selected such that, as it flies past, the course of the guided missile (1) lies anti-parallel to the flight path of the aerial target (6), wherein the guided missile (1) flies past the aerial target (6) anti-parallel at a specified distance, wherein a position of an explosive charge (6a) on the aerial target (6) is determined when the aerial target (6) is detected, wherein the hollow charge (7) is detonated according to the position of the explosive charge (6a), and wherein the hollow charge (7) sets off the explosive charge (6a) of the aerial target (6).
