A hair styling device and a hair styling method are described, for imparting a wave to a section of hair, the device having a first forming member, a second forming member, and a hair-receiving region between the first forming member and the second forming member. A primary driving element is movable relative to the first forming member and the second forming member and is adapted to move the section of hair in the hair-receiving region in a hair-deforming direction. The device has a secondary driving element, movable relative to the first forming member and the second forming member, and adapted to move the section of hair in the hair-receiving region in a direction opposed to the hair-deforming direction. The secondary driving element can thereby drive the section of hair into a more relaxed position to produce a more natural looking wave.

HAIR DRYING AND/OR STYLING DEVICE AND ATTACHMENT FOR DRYING AND/OR STYLING HAIR
The invention relates to a hair drying and/or styling device and in particular to a hair drying device which can optionally be used to style hair. The invention may be configured as a unitary or stand-alone device or it may be configured as an attachment for another device such as a hair dryer. The hair drying and/or styling device has an air inlet, a body with an air flow space in communication with the air inlet, and an outlet plate with a large number of openings which are in communication with the air flow space. The outlet plate is concave and defines a volume which is surrounded by the outlet plate. A chosen section of hair can be inserted into the volume for drying and/or styling. The outlet plate is rotatable relative to the body, the rotatable outlet plate facilitating styling of the section of hair.
This invention relates to a hair styling device, a hair styling method, and a drive system suitable for use in the hair styling device. The invention relates in particular to a hair styling device (10; 210) for imparting a wave to a section of hair (36) without clamping the section of hair in the wave form. The device has a first forming member (24) and a second forming member (24) with a hair-receiving region (38) between the forming members. A driving member (20; 120) is movable relative to the first forming member and the second forming member to deform the section of hair in the hair-receiving region. The driving member (20; 120) undertakes a two-stage movement as it deforms the section of hair, the driving member in a first stage being movable in a first direction (D1) to drive the section of hair (36) into the hair-receiving region, the driving member (20; 120) in a second stage being movable in a second direction (D2), the second direction being at an angle to the first direction whereby in use to further move the section of hair in the hair-receiving region (38).

The hair styling device (10; 210) has a first arm (12; 212) and a second arm (14; 214), the first and second arms being moveable relative to one another between a closed or operative condition and an open or inoperative condition. The first member (12; 212) has a first heating panel (16; 116; 216) and the second member (14; 214) has a second heating panel (18; 118; 218). The heating panels (16, 18; 116, 118; 216, 218) are corrugated to increase the length of the path the hair must take between the heating panels. The first and second heating panels are spaced apart in the operative condition so as not to press or clamp the hair therebetween. The first member (12; 212) also has a first pressing panel (26; 126; 226) and the second member (14; 214) also has a second pressing panel (28; 128; 228), the first and second pressing panels in their operative position engaging so that the hair is pressed between the pressing panels.

A45D 2/44 - Hair-curling or hair-waving appliances using two or more combs one upon the other or one in distance to the other, e.g. using slidable combs
A hair styling device is described, for waving hair by forming a length of hair into a wave form. A first forming member, a second forming member and a third forming member are located within a chamber of the device. There is a first hair-receiving region between the first and second forming members and a second hair-receiving region between the second and third forming members. A first driving member drives a portion of the length of hair into the first hair-receiving region and a second driving member drives another portion of the length of hair into the second hair-receiving region. The first and second driving members move independently and sequentially so as to reduce the tension applied to the length of hair.

This invention relates to a hair styling device (10). The device has a body (12) defining a chamber (16) adapted to accommodate a length of hair (24), the chamber having an opening (22) through which the length of hair may pass into the chamber. A rotatable element (26) is adapted to engage the length of hair adjacent to the opening and to wind the length of hair around a protrusion within the chamber. A first hair- straightening panel (44) and a second hair-straightening panel (46) are provided, the first hair-straightening panel and the second hair-straightening panel facing one another and defining a passage (50) through which the length of hair passes as it leaves the chamber, the first hair-straightening panel and the second hair- straightening panel being movable relative to one another.
This invention relates to a hair styling device, and in particular a hair waving device. The device has a chamber for containing the length of hair, and a first forming member and a second forming member within the chamber, a first hair-receiving region between the first forming member and the second forming member. A first driving member can move relative to the first forming member between an inoperative position outside the first hair-receiving region and an operative position within the first hair-receiving region. The first driving member drives a portion of the length of hair into the first hair-receiving region to form a first wave in the length of hair. The device can comprise multiple forming members and multiple driving members to produce multiple waves.
