Abstract

Service device 10 for facilitating access to or at a structure above ground or sea level, which service device 10 comprises an at least partially inflatable platform part 20. The platform part 20 is configured to be flexibly storable, when being in an essentially un-inflated state, and the platform part 20, when being in an essentially inflated state, is configured for being load carrying. Further, the service device comprises attachment locations 22 for attachment of suspending means such as suspending lines 40 and a guard railing 24. The attachment locations 22 are arranged at or connected to the platform part (20) and the guard railing 24 is arranged essentially along the perimeter of the platform part 20. A method of using the service device 10 comprises - providing the service device with the platform part 20 being in an essentially un- inflated state, - inflating the platform part 20 to a predefined inflated state, - deploying the guard railing 24, - attaching one or more suspending means such as suspending lines 40 to respective attachment locations 22 and attaching the one or more suspending means such as suspending lines 40 to respective anchor points 42, if not already attached, and - lifting or lowering the service device 10 via the one or more suspending means such as suspending lines (40).
